Course Description:
Explores nursing leadership in the context of current care delivery structures and reimbursement systems (7.1). Uses informatics and quality improvement models to inform decision-making to reduce health risks, understand practice patterns, improve access to care and health outcomes (2.7; 5.1; 5.2; 5.3; 8.1; 8.4; 8.5). Collaborate with interprofessional partners in a climate of mutual learning, respect and shared values (6.1; 6.2; 6.3; 6.4)
Learning Objectives
1. Describe models of implementation science to improve quality and safety using informatics
2. Analyze current health data, evidence-based practices, and available technologies to develop recommendations to improve quality and safety of practice environments
3. Develop a quality improvement and patient safety plan using informatics within a healthcare practice, organization, or system
4. Evaluate quality and safety plan for congruence with principles of interprofessional collaborative practice, ethical program development, and regulatory requirements
